CivilSphere ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our
Chrome Extension collects, uses, and discloses your information.
2. Information We Collect
- Authentication Data: We use Google Sign-In to authenticate your identity. We store your
Google User ID and Email Address to manage your contributions (submissions, votes, and flags) and to prevent
abuse.
- Usage Data: When you actively interact with the extension (e.g., clicking "Read More
Sides"), we may log the URL of the page you are visiting to query our database for relevant perspectives. We
do not passively track your browsing history on pages where you do not activate the
extension.
- User Contributions: Content you submit (links, titles, votes, and reports) is stored in our
database and associated with your User ID.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide the core functionality of the CivilSphere service (displaying and linking diverse perspectives).
- To maintain the integrity of our voting and moderation systems.
- To notify you (with your permission) when content you have requested becomes available.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal identification information to others. We store data using Google
Firebase, a secure cloud infrastructure provider.
